A post regarding a knitted bear. (FO Report)

See, I could have called this post “Teddy, Steady, Go!” or “Unbearably cool!” or something equally punderful and exclamatory. But I didn’t, because I’m a decent blogger who understands that, by the time you’ve reached the age of 12, you’ve heard every pun about bears ever made.

Here’s a bear I knitted.

A beacon of dignity in a wasteland.

The jumper just kicked me with its cuteness. It’s a simple bottom-up raglan, with a checkerboard-patterned yoke to help spin the black yarn out a little further and warm me up for some colourwork projects I’ve got kicking around in the future. I had to unravel the sleeves three times and redo the yoke, but it was so damn cute I didn’t give a crap. I was just happy to keep hanging out with the adorable little thing. And now Geddy Bear’s got it on, he’s not giving it up. Not without a fight.

Come at me, bro.

Pattern: Discontinued! So discontinued that Ravelry hasn’t even heard of it. A pamphlet in a kit from Panda Yarns, which I was given to offset the potential tedium of a long drive home. Honestly, though, there’s loads of free teddy bear patterns out in the wilderness of the webz. A brief googling will sort you out.

Yarn: Panda acrylic. Pleasant enough to work with. Jumper: black from unlabelled ball in the stash cupboard, red Bendigo Woollen Mills Classic. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again, but I wouldn’t dodge it either.

Needles: Who can say?

(Possibly the least useful FO Report I’ve ever written.)
